A prize pool valued at $60,000 will be up for grabs in the XXXX Gold Fishing Classic in 2015, including four boats.

Held on Deniliquin’s picturesque Edward River and with the event’s headquarters positioned right in the heart of town, the 2015 Classic will be held from Friday, February 20 to Sunday, February 22.

The fun begins on the Friday evening, with registrations taken at the Classic Headquarters on the Edward River Oval, followed by the popular Prize-A-Rama held at the Deniliquin RSL Club.

The Prize-A-Rama is a 30-draw reverse raffle with $8000 in prizes on offer and meals available from 5pm before the draw starts at 7.30pm.

Competition fishing will take place on Saturday from 7am to 5pm and Sunday from 7am to 11am.

Making it fun for the whole family, there’s adult and junior categories, a Kids Casting Competition and Kids Charlie Carp Fish Race.

On the Saturday night the entertainment takes to the Edward River Oval with live music until 11pm, meals available and the XXXX bar open.

Two packages of a Quintrex 390 Explorer boat with 15hp Yamaha motor, valued at $8000 each, will be given away on the night. One is the $5 raffle prize and the other can only be won by earlybird entrants who register before February 16.

Up for grabs as the major fishing prize is a 4.2m Quintrex 420 Explorer Trophy, 30hp Yamaha motor and Dunbier trailer package worth $15,000, which can be won by any adult entrant.

A $4500 3.6m punt and 5hp Yamaha motor package is also on offer as the junior lucky entry prize.

There’s also a huge range of other prizes to be won in each fishing category.

Anglers will have at least 20km of Edward River to land a prize catch, and presentations are on the Sunday starting from noon with meals available.

Registrations are now open at www.denifishingclassic.com.au.
