Long Paddock takes out National Local Government Award


The five shires of the Long Paddock – Cobb Highway Touring Route have been announced as the winners of the Innovation in Regional Development category in the 2008 National Local Government Awards. The 22nd annual award was announced by the Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, Anthony Albanese.

The ongoing theme of the Awards is “Local Government – working hard for Australians” and it showcases the resourcefulness and innovation of Australia’s hard working councils in improving services to their communities.    The award is recognition of the innovative and collaborative approach of the Murray, Deniliquin, Conargo, Hay and Central Darling Shires towards tourism in the area.  Read full article
 

ARTback - Sculptures of the Long Paddock - Calling all artists

The Long Paddock Committee (LPC) today released the Expression of Interst for its ARTback project.  ARTback will see five large scale public artworks installed at five different sites along the Long Paddock  - Cobb Highway Touring Route. Read full article
